Sundials for the Children!

Potomac News columnist Jim Simpson reports that the Prince William County, Virginia government will be paying for a 62-foot sundial at the new Neabsco High School. Apparently, the county doesn't know how much the sundial will cost, it is lost somewhere in the $40 million budget for the new facility.

Simpson writes, "This sundial would be built out of a concrete with a 'granite wall,' a 'brass steel central piece,' and 'brass Roman numerals.'"

"If you're a teacher, and you didn't jump up and down about this expenditure, then I don't want to hear sob stories about how salaries aren't high enough or there isn't enough money for books. Want some extra money? Go chip it off the 60-foot sundial at Neabsco High School"
