For 25 years, David Johnston has been in the construction industry designing, building, and consulting on environmental construction. He studied with Buckminster Fuller at Southern Illinois University, graduating with a degree in Environmental Systems Design.

As the Founder and President of Lightworks Construction, Inc. in Bethesda, MD, he was named Builder of the year by the Washington DC chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry in 1990. He was also inducted into the Remodeling Magazine Hall of Fame as one of the Top 50 builders in the country in 1990.
